About
The Observatory
The Far-Right Protest Observatory (FARPO) produces and houses data on protests organized by far-right groups in European countries in the last twenty years. This data includes the location, date, initiator, and motive behind each protest.
Designed for students, researchers, decisionmakers, civil society organizations and journalists, this comprehensive resource helps tracking and comparing far-right protest in contemporary democracies, rigorously and consistently.
FARPO is based on data collection in the following projects
Far-Right Protest in Europe – FARPE (2017-2020): funded by the Center for Research on Extremism (C-REX) and led by Pietro Castelli Gattinara in collaboration with Caterina Froio and Andrea Pirro.
Far-Right Mobilisation and the European Crises (2021-2024): received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 883620 led by Pietro Castelli Gattinara
